dhtmlxGantt 1.3 Released

Friday, August 27th, 2010

Today we’re happy to announce the release of dhtmlxGantt version 1.3. Some of you have been waiting for this a long time now, so here it is. We have updated the look and feel of our Gantt chart control, and have made some improvements and bug fixes.

The most notable changes are:

  • New time scale – Positioned at the top, containing real dates with month and day. Not yet zoomable.
  • New background – Enhanced with vertical split bars to demarcate the days, plus colored weekends.
  • Nice tree part design – We’ve removed tree lines, and added bold and thin text to highlight projects and master tasks.
  • New “Print” function – Allows you to print the chart in HTML format.

Additionally, you can now attach dhtmlxMenu to the tree nodes, and a lot of new events were introduced (please refer to the online documentation).

It is now very easy to add your own code on task object changes. We have also made the GPL version (downloadable) completely identical to the standard one, so you can easily evaluate the control for your own project. To download the upgrade, please go to dhtmlxGantt homepage.

Enjoy!

Gantt Chart Released

Monday, April 19th, 2010

For those who build MS Project-like tools, we have released our new control – dhtmlxGantt, an interactive Gantt chart.

A great feature set, a wide variety of options, flexibility, cross-browser compatibility, and powerful JavaScript API make this component really useful for creating superior project management applications.

Main features at a glance:

  • Interactive, editable view (read-only is optional)
  • Fast and smooth rendering
  • XML serializable
  • Dependency arrows
  • Constraint checking

Use our Gantt chart to illustrate a project schedule. You can show the dependency relationships as lines between activities. Gantt charts can show current schedule status at a glance by using percent-complete shadings. Projects, tasks, and activities are comfortably organized into a tree structure (left of the chart), which can be expanded/collapsed by a single mouse click. Mouseover pop-ups show extended activity properties.
